Week Two

This week has gone significantly better than last week. Shisa has stopped needing her medication as well, and is being a wonderful mom to the puppies. I'm not needing to supplement any of the pups either, all quite happily filling up by nursing on mama.

The puppies are growing well, and are no longer the tiny pups that I could hold in one hand. They completely fill the plastic box I've been using to corral them when I change the whelping pads in their pen.

It won't be long before they are crawling out of there!

While he does like snuggling with his siblings, the light blue one still likes crawling around, and finding nooks to snuggle in. Being the second biggest, I wonder if him snuggling with his mama's food dish is an indicator of what is to come...

Blue seems to have decided he doesn't like his collar, and regularly manages to get it off.

I suppose that should be good, as it's another sign that the collars come off easily, even if I don't resize them quickly enough. But the velcro is getting more and more bits of hair in it, and coming off even easier now. Oh well. It just mean more snuggling with the puppies for me, while I clean it off as best I can and put it back on the little guy.

And yes, for those of you looking carefully, the pupies eyes are opening! They are able to see their surroundings, and it won't be long before they are walking around and exploring their area.

They still can't hear (not that you'd know it from the noise they make), but once they do, they'll be even more active as they play and explore their worlds. For now though, they are quite happy to focus just on eating and sleeping.
