Two weeks old, and growing like weeds!

The puppies are doing wonderfully.

They still spend most of their time sleeping. Or at least taking turns sleeping while others crawl around complaining they haven't found the perfect spot to sleep.

Shisa is being a fantastic mom, though she has started sleeping just outside the pen, so she can stretch out and try to get a little sleep, without the pups crawling all over her wanting to eat. But as soon as the pups get noisy, she's back up and in the pen, taking care of them.

If she's not fast enough to lay down, the pups have started swarming her and trying to nurse while she's sitting up! I try to rescue her in those situations, and move the pups so she can lay down and let them all eat.

Now that the pups are 2-weeks-old, their eyes are opening.

The littlest, Red, was the first one to open his eyes. My husband and I joked that he wanted the edge over his siblings at finding mama and getting to eat fastest. Red is also the pup that gets out of his collar constantly, even from the very start, when he would try to push it off with his paws, or end up crawling partway through it. Thankfully, so far all the others seem to leave their collars alone, so it's easy to know which is which.

I'll try to start getting pictures of each of the pups this coming week, as well as some good group shots, this coming week. I was looking through my photos, and realized I mostly have puppy piles, or pups nursing, so it's a bit harder to see each of the pups.

Yes, that's Red's collar underneath mama...

This past week was freezing, literally. Thankfully, we never lost power. Of course, the cold meant we kept the heat lamp above the puppy pen, just to make sure the room stayed warm enough. The cold didn't bother Shisa or Raiju it seemed though, as they both enjoyed rolling in the snow when they'd go outside.

Poor Raiju was feeling rather left out, since we're so focused on the pups. So we decided to take him out for a walk, and see how frozen the nearby pond was. We quickly discovered that under a couple inches of snow, it was solid enough for my husband to try ice skating. Raiju wasn't sure what to think about being unable to go swimming, or the fact that he would occasionally go sliding across the ground. But all seemed to have a good time.

Replying to

Both breeders are located in Pennsylvania, but transportation of the pups from there to where I am in Texas is definitely an option.

This breeder is located about an hour north of Pittsburgh. https://kennedyclan3239.wixsite.com/white-shepherds-pa This is her website, though I don't know that she's updated it in a while. But it will give you her contact info at least. Her facebook page has a lot of pictures of the puppies, and she keeps it updated a lot better. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2192015214401437 This breeder is located about an hour north of Philadelphia. They have a few more females than I do, so they are able to have more litters each year. https://www.facebook.com/whitegermanshepherdsofjamin I believe they take reservations for their litters, if that…
