Shisa got a new friend. Raiju, another white German Shepherd joined our home. He quickly decided one of our chairs was the perfect place to sleep. This had been one of the cats's favorite beds, but with the introduction of a new pup, a floor-level bed was no longer safe.
When Raiju first arrived, Shisa was actually a little afraid of the noisy little pup. She apparently had no memory of a dog that was smaller than her. Especially one that was vocal. It didn't take long though, for the two to become inseparable buddies.
She quickly learned how to play with him, other than just sharing her toys. Soon, the two were racing around, and wrestling on the floor. It was entertaining to see Shisa on her back, letting the little pup climb on top to let him get the illusion of successfully beating her.
Thankfully, since Shisa was only a year old, she still was very much a puppy, and the two could try to expend the other's energy. It quickly became apparent that Raiju was the more laid back of the two, quite ready to take a nap long before Shisa had run out of energy.
