In the spring, not long after Raiju's arrival, came another newcomer. A little lamb who had been rejected by his mother needed a home. Both dogs quickly accepted the little one.
The lamb quickly decided he must be a dog, and that anywhere the dogs went, he should too. This meant that on walks, the little one trotted along, following the dogs.
It also meant he was quite put out when the dogs would be allowed indoors, alone with the humans, and he was left outside. If the dogs show no fear of something, he shows no fear either. Especially if I'm there too. He doesn't care how big the cattle are. His buddies and I are there, so he had to be right with us.
The dogs and he enjoy being together, whether on walks, relaxing, or playing.
The biggest challenge, is if I am having the dogs obey and sit to help block the route for the guineas to escape when I'm closing them up, as the lamb will charge the guineas, and head but the dogs to knock them over and get them to go play with him. Definitely a rather crazy addition to our lives, but the lamb, dogs, and I, truly do enjoy it.
